You must log in before you can join this conversation. Restore the d3dx942.dll file from the latest DirectX software package. The Snes9x core's core provided aspect ratio is dependent on the 'Preferred aspect ratio' core option. The Snes9x core's base height is 224 when the Crop Overscan core option is set to enabled.

I googled it and found the recommendation that I should install the required DirectX9 runtime via webinstaller. The Snes9x core's core provided FPS is 60.0988118623 for NTSC games and 50.0069789082 for PAL games. I tried using Snes9X 1.53 and 1.54 64 and 1.53 32, doesn't change anything :/ oh and the first time I tried to start Snes9x I got an error msg that the "d3dx9_42.dll" file is missing although I have DirectX11 installed.
I dont know if I can describe the problem well enough, I can record it if it helps? I dont have this problem on zsnes, but I got other problems with zsnes and I dont rly want to use it.
